ONLINE CLASS RECORDING

CONTENT: The four easy-to-digest lesson recordings in this class on sEMG and dysphagia are intended for speech language therapists, other health professionals, researchers and students. These recordings provide an overview of dysphagia and the most common sEMG training strategies used for rehabilitation with sEMG biofeedback instrumentation. The four recordings introduce the use of the sEMG equipment, cover the background required to choose appropriate candidates for biofeedback and go into some detail on the use of the sEMG equipment. In lecture 1, Dr. Steele’s describes the scientific theory and evidence behind her SEMG for Dysphagia methods. Lecture 2 takes participants through equipment setup and recording of sEMG data. Lecture 3 covers the interpretation of sEMG recordings and things to watch out for. Lecture 4 includes case presentations of typical sessions.
