EMOTION & BIOFEEDBACK CLASS
RECORDING
CONTENT: Enjoy and benefit from these 4 easy-to-digest lessons
recorded live from Portugal and Michigan in January 2012. These lesson
recordings provide a complete introduction to the use of surface
Electromyography and Skin Conductance, Heart Rate Variability (HRV),
and Electroencephalography (EEG) used to measure emotions. Measures of
facial muscles show the valence (direction) of the emotion (happy
versus sad) and skin conductance shows the strength of the emotion.
This real-time information is used in marketing research and might
also be useful in clinical practice. Lesson 1 shows how a simple small
biofeedback device can be used in the clinic to display the skin
conductance, and surface EMG measures during a session. Clients can
also be trained in biofeedback by just showing a movie, cartoons or
play music to help patients relax using the same signals. The class
recordings include live, online demonstrations of how to biofeedback
equipment can be used to recognize and record physiological
indicatators related to emotions. The class includes references to the
latest research.

the BFE. The purpose of the recordings is to familiarize the learner
with the clinical methods and latest evidence base research to support
the use of biofeedback devices to measure emotions. The recorded
version may include questions and answers from participants. Every
